Who We Are
Louise Yamada formed an independent research company in 2005 - Louise Yamada Technical Research Advisors,
LLC ("LYA") - to provide the same in-depth and thought-provoking research that clients had come to expect during
her 25 years at Smith Barney (Citigroup) as a top-ranked "Institutional Investor" technical analyst.
As Managing Director and Head of Technical Research for Smith Barney, Louise Yamada was a perennial leader in
the Institutional Investor poll, and was the top-ranked market technician in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
Our technical analysis team has been together for up to 24 years and includes Senior Analyst Jonathan Lin and
Analysts Lori Altenburger and Noreen Lennon.
2009
Now in our fourth independent year, we continue to expand our scope of research and education to our clients.
We frequently receive inquiries about money management. We are strictly a
research enterprise and we do not manage money.
Our long-standing correlation of the 2000 bear to the 1929-42 structural bear market has tracked amazingly, inclusive of
both the parallel 1932-37 (2002-07) advance and the 1937-38 style 49% decline (2007-08). Now only time will tell if we
complete the 1938-42 analogy of a rocky road. Such a scenario would provide the necessary repair process for individual
stocks required following such severe declines, and understanding that the 30-40X leverage is unlikely to return in
our careers.
2007
This October we marked our second anniversary after a year of continued growth and an expansion of our scope
to include additional areas of research and a new role as consultant for a new money management strategy.
Throughout the past year our Structural Bull Market calls for Oil and Gold have continued to play out,
as has our call for a structural decline in the dollar and our transitional trading range for interest rates
between 3.50%-5.50%; and the equity markets have fulfilled our "Alternative Hypothesis" with the 2002-2007
advance correlating to 1932-1937. Additionally, our underperformance for Financials remains active.
As we begin our third year we are pleased to announce the appointment of Jeanne Victore Crisci as Director
of Sales and Client Relations. Jeanne brings over 20 years of financial services experience and is well
versed in the areas of research and soft dollars. The addition of Jeanne will greatly increase and enhance
our client services. Please contact her directly with any inquiries:

2006
As an independent research company, we were delighted to mark our first anniversary with recognition
in the Institutional Investor poll as Runner Up in Technical Analysis, the only independent research
firm to be so named. We thank our clients for their ongoing appreciation of our research.
